Office Energy Booster Tips
1: Take A Breather!
When you start to notice your eyelids drooping, head outside to stretch your legs. If there’s a park nearby make sure you’re taking advantage of it whenever you can.
Breathe in some fresh air and clear your head! If going outside isn’t an option, crack open the nearest window – stale air can make anyone feel like they’re in need of a snooze.
2: Take A Tea Break
When all else fails, head for the kettle with your office BFF, have the chats and fix yourselves a cuppa. Green tea is a great option if you want something that will give you a boost but not keep you awake the whole night. Getting a quick snack also helps, go for something with protein like peanut butter on a rice cake or some hummus with carrot and celery sticks.
3: Play Your Favourite Music
Pop in your headphones and throw on some of your favourite tunes – keep a couple of playlists on standby that you know will give you a boost. Listening to music while working has long been proven to increase concentration and productivity.
4: Grab A Cool Drink
Dehydration can result in fatigue. According to the medical profession, if you consistently drink less than six to eight 8-ounce glasses of fluid a day, you may be lacking energy all the time. Grabbing a cool glass of something (ideally water) may perk you up.
5: Stand, Breathe and Stretch
If moving around the office or taking a break outside isn’t an option, get creative and do some gentle exercise at your desk. Perform some simple stretches to loosen up any tight muscles around your neck, back and shoulders and flex and point your toes. These will help you tackle the rest of your tasks, as you’ll return to work feeling more energised and alert.
