Health in the Workplace 2
Tips for Health in the Workplace – Part 2
Workplaces can vary but the reality is that the majority of us are faced with a desk to sit behind each morning, so how can we keep healthy while at work?
If you haven’t heard of it you must have had your head under a rock, it’s the new ‘it’ thing to do, it doesn’t happen overnight though, this becoming more ‘zen’ business, try the headspace app to get you started.
2: Moving Meetings
We’re all familiar with the static meeting, if you’re in a position to change it up though, why not seize the opportunity to challenge the status quo and propose a standing meeting. Standing meetings work best if you have high tables to work around.
3: Dining Clients
Often times, we lunch with colleagues or have a working or business lunch, if you’re ordering the sandwiches, why not ask them to use low fat spread and mayonnaise and to include fruit and yogurt as snacks instead of the usual treats, your waistline will thank you for it, especially if it’s a usual thing.
4: Set a to-do list
Before finishing work, create your to do list for the following day, once you’ve jotted down a few things that need to get done, prioritise them, sometimes the best way to feel productive is to start with the easiest tasks first, crossing them off gives great satisfaction too!
5: 3pm Pick-me-up
If you suffer from the afternoon slump, pre-empt it by getting enough sleep the night before if you can at all, saving your lunch time coffee for around now or dedicating a few minutes to some desk exercises.
